Money line
The D-Backs are ascending, and I think it’s mostly for real. RHP Zac Gallen has thrust himself into Cy Young consideration with 34 1/3 scoreless innings, and the team has fed off of it. The Brewers look sluggish, and Yelich’s injury could just be the nail in the coffin. I like the DIAMONDBACKS -105 to drive the nails further.
Run line/Against the spread
The thing that scares me about the run line is Davies. He has walked exactly 2 batters each of his last 10 starts, and he doesn’t strike out enough guys to wiggle out of it. So I’m going to pass on the RL and hone in on those K’s. Davies has 4-plus K’s in just 2 of his last 8 starts. He fanned 3 Brewers when he faced them in Sept. of 2021. Let’s take a plus-money chance on ZACH DAVIES UNDER 3.5 K’S (+102).
Over/Under
Earlier, we mentioned the amount of double-digit run totals in the series before this game at Chase Field. The Over has been cashing in the desert, and it would have Thursday if Milwaukee could score. They should get at least a couple off of Davies, and we should have a solid chance of cashing OVER 8.5 (-115).
