The USC Trojans’ football spring game was held on Saturday, and there were plenty of notable performances from the team. One player who drew some attention was Miller Moss, the quarterback who is behind Caleb Williams as a backup alongside Malachi Nelson.
Moss was impressive and took extended reps in the spring game. He was decisive and confident in making reads and was effective in running the ball when pass plays weren’t there.
Moss showed a clearly improved comfort level in leading the offense and showed some touch on downfield passes.
With Kliff Kingsbury coming to USC to work with the quarterbacks in an analyst role, Miler could develop big-time in 2023.
He threw a pretty pass to Zachariah Branch.
Caleb Williams is entering the season as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy and be the top pick in the 2024 NFL draft. Malachi Nelson is a five-star talent who is expected to take over once Williams leaves.
However, Miller Moss might be making people believe that if anything happens to the QB1, he will be ready to step in if needed. If he continues to play as he did on Saturday, that will give the Trojans a lot of confidence.
