Miles Sanders on Panthers’ o-line: ‘Just as good or better’ than Eagles

While calling the Eagles’ offensive line the “best in the game,” Panthers RB Miles Sanders said he believes his new hog mollies are “just as good or better.”

New Carolina Panthers running back Miles Sanders seems pretty excited about his new hog mollies.

On Wednesday—during his first press conference since signing a four-year, $25 million deal with the team—Sanders was asked how much of a pull Carolina’s offensive line was in his free-agent decision.

“Not too far from where I just left,” he said. “I left an o-line where . . . probably top notch. Best in the game, in my opinion. But this group is either just as good or better—just by watching the film and watching how they work and how they move. I’m constantly complimenting them on just how they move in these workouts. These guys are moving really good, which I love. It brings me a lot of confidence. I was listening to Andy [Dalton] talk—and it’s a running back’s best friend as much as it is a quarterback’s best friend.”

That’s some extremely high praise, folks.

Philadelphia’s line, which is widely accepted as the very best in the NFL, paved the way for one of the most dominant offensive campaigns in recent memory. And Sanders had himself a career year behind that bunch—rushing for bests in yards (1,269), touchdowns (11) and first downs (62).

As for Carolina’s front, they’re still a budding group. The additions of free-agent signings Austin Corbett and Bradley Bozeman and 2022 sixth overall pick Ikem Ekwonu helped solidify the most effective starting line the franchise has had in quite some time.

But if Sanders thinks they’re already there, then who are we to argue? Heck, he’s already thinking about some dubs.

“I just like how the team embraced me, wanted me and know what I can do,” he added of his situation. “They know I’m a three-down back and, hopefully, I can do whatever I can to show that and help this team get as much wins as possible.”
