Mike Tyson’s trainer breaks down his stunning workout clip that has boxing fans buzzing

Is Mike Tyson getting in shape for a potential boxing comeback?

Former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson was once the undisputed baddest man on the planet, and he just released a stunning training video that proved that even at the age of 53, he’s still near the top of that leaderboard.

In a tantalizingly short clip, Tyson showed off a glimpse of the power and speed that made him one of the most exciting athletes on the planet – and according to his trainer, Tyson’s still got the attributes of top fighters in their twenties.

In an interview with ESPN, trainer Rafael Cordeiro, who appeared in the video, said that Tyson was hitting mitts for the first time in nearly a decade. Tyson last fought professionally in 2005.

Via ESPN:

“He hasn’t hit mitts for almost 10 years. So I didn’t expect to see what I saw. I saw a guy with the same speed, same power as guys 21, 22 years old.”

In a recent episode of his podcast, Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson, Tyson said that he hopes to participate in charity bouts to help those in need.

“I want to go to the gym and get in shape to be able to box 3 or 4 round exhibitions for some charities and stuff. Some charity exhibitions, make some money, help some homeless and drug-affected [expletives] like me.”
