During Mike Tomlin’s tenure as Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, you can count on one hand the number of games the team played as ugly as last Sunday’s humiliating loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
This is a fact not missed on head coach Mike Tomlin when he spoke to the media on Tuesday. According to Tomlin, the Steelers are going to “wallow in our stench for while and wait for next opportunity to play football.”
That next opportunity is this Sunday and it could be just as ugly as last week. Pittsburgh welcomes the Baltimore Ravens to town and if you thought slowing Joe Mixon down was hard, just wait for this Ravens run game to get going.
Unfortunately, there just isn’t much the Steelers can do week-to-week, especially in the middle of an NFL season to fix the kinds of roster problems this team has. But one thing that can be improved is effort which has been lacking.
