Mike Scott may be repping the Philadelphia 76ers on the floor and in the city, but deep down, the Virginia native is a Washington Redskins fn through and through. He even showed up to Week 1 in Philadelphia in a Redskins jersey to show off his team in their matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles.
However, it is time for a change with the Redskins name.
In a time where social injustice has come to the absolute forefront of America’s issues, the call to change the name of the Redskins has been louder than ever. The term is not endearing towards Native Americans and it is a name that should not be used in any sort of way let alone an NFL team.
“I’ve liked Redtails,” said Scott via Zoom on Monday. “They’ve been trying to change the name so I’m all for that change.”
Redskins owner Dan Snyder is one guy, in particular, who has not had a great reputation amongst the Redskins fans and it is another change that the football fan in Scott would love to see.
“[Expletive] change the owner,” he added with a laugh. “If they want to change it and represent something else, that’s good. I’m just all about doing it. I’m with that. Change the owner too.”
#Sixers reserve Mike Scott, a diehard Washington football fan, on the NFL team changing its nickname: “If they want to change the name, I’m with that. Change the owner, too.”

In a time where change is beginning to happen, it would be the right move by the Washington football franchise to change its name. Now is the time for everybody to be a little more understanding and make the appropriate changes in life. [lawrence-related id=34107,34097,34076]
