Mike McDaniel suggested that Tyreek Hill refused to go in the game during the Dolphins’ Week 18 loss

An ugly end to Tyreek Hill’s season.

The 2024 season was undeniably a year to forget for Tyreek Hill. Battling a wrist injury and dealing with Tua Tagovailoa’s early season absence, Hill had his worst statistical season since his rookie year. But still, you never want to see a star player quit on his team.

And that’s exactly what appeared to happen on Sunday.

When it became apparent that the Dolphins weren’t going to get the help they needed in the playoff push from Kansas City, Hill did not play for the fourth quarter of Miami’s loss to the Jets. Yet, this wasn’t a coaching decision from Mike McDaniel. The Dolphins head coach told reporters that he was informed that Hill was done for the day … and it was not injury related.

McDaniel went on to say that he was fine going with the players who wanted to compete and be out there — an obvious jab at Hill.

After the game, Hill also suggested that he would be on his way out of Miami despite having one more year on his contract before a potential out in 2026.

It really wasn’t a great look for Hill who will miss the playoffs for the first time in his NFL career.
