Mike McCarthy says Cowboys are preparing for Cooper Rush to start at QB against the Eagles

During his Wednesday morning session with the media, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy says Dallas is preparing for Cooper Rush to face the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night

The Cowboys have started preparation for Sunday night’s massive matchup against the Eagles, and the team has decided on the quarterback position.

Dak Prescott has resumed throwing the football, but head coach Mike McCarthy says Dallas is preparing for Cooper Rush to start at quarterback against Philadelphia.

Prescott underwent thumb surgery following Dallas’ Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and his 4-6 week designation would put him on track to return in Week 7 against the Lions at home.

Rush was 10 of 16 passing for 102 yards in Sunday’s victory over the defending champion Los Angeles Rams. On the season, he’s completed 72 of 118 passes for 839 yards, four touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

Dallas will look to run the ball, make timely throws with Rush and lean on their top-ranked defense to help slow down Jalen Hurts and the Eagles’ top-ranked offense.
