Mike Golic’s run on ESPN Radio — and on morning shows in general — was incredible.
But what might be just as impressive is the fact we learned from his appearance on the podcast of his ESPN colleague Adam Schefter: he informed the NFL reporter that in 25 years of waking up that early, whether it was at 4:15 or 4:30 AM, he NEVER overslept and missed the start of a show. He set one alarm! Luckily, on weekends, he was able to go back to sleep after he’d stir around that super-early time.
What’s more is now that he doesn’t have to wake up that early anymore, he got rid of his alarm clock (or he might mean the alarm set on his phone).
In honor of @espngolic and his legendary run on ESPN radio, we thought we’d post this at about the time he woke up for 22 straight years.

Golic also tweeted this on his first Monday after his final show:
Pretty weird, 1st day knowing I’m done on ESPN radio. Brings up a lot of thoughts, but the one that stands out most is how fortunate I was to connect with so many of you everyday. I really enjoyed hearing your stories of with whom and how you consumed the show…..1/2

There’s a lot to get used to after over two decades doing the same thing.
