The Arizona Cardinals turned some heads last year when they drafted Kyler Murray with the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. While the former Oklahoma quarterback was the reigning Heisman Trophy winner at the time, the Cards had used the No. 10 pick in the 2018 draft to take quarterback Josh Rosen out of UCLA.
But Rosen’s rocky rookie season, coupled with the hiring of head coach Kliff Kingsbury, who tried to recruit Murray in college, likely made Arizona’s decision a little easier. Let’s not forget, too, that Murray wasn’t just a star athlete at Oklahoma. He was also a legend in high school. Check out these stats below.

And, it seems Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans thinks Murray’s stats are legit.
Take a look at this tweet from the Pro Bowl receiver.
Texas High School football is the best and QB the hardest position so I guess Kyler Murray the best HS player ever https://t.co/J2nX3op8bA

High praise from Evans.
