It’s safe to say that the Bears won’t be considered Super Bowl contenders heading into the 2020 season. Not with one glaring question mark on their roster: Mitchell Trubisky.
The belief was that Trubisky would take the next step this season, but instead he regressed to the point where his future in Chicago is in question. While it was once believed that the Bears could win a Super Bowl with Trubisky — given Chicago’s dominant defense — that hope quickly vanished following an abysmal 2019 campaign.
And yet, there’s still one person that still believes in Trubisky.
Mike Ditka.
In an interview with Kap and Co. on ESPN 1000, Ditka expressed his confidence that the Bears can find success with Trubisky.
“I like Mitchell, and I think the Bears can win with him,” Ditka said. “I believe they can win championships with him.”

Yep, you heard right.
Ditka believes the Bears can win with Trubisky. Not just win, win multiple championships. Which is too bold of a prediction even for me — and I embrace the boldest of predictions.
If we’re to believe that the Bears have unwavering faith in Trubisky headed into 2020, the hiring of John DeFilippo as quarterbacks coach and Bill Lazor as offensive coordinator should serve as invaluable experience for the Bears beleaguered quarterback.
