While a lot of the offseason hype surrounding LSU’s women’s basketball team had to do with the transfer pickups and the return of [autotag]Angel Reese[/autotag], [autotag]Mikaylah Williams[/autotag] has been one of the most impactful additions.
The No. 1 recruit in the 2023 class, Williams has had a tremendous true freshman season, and after a big week with impressive performances in blowout wins over McNeese and Northwestern State, she’s been named both the national (USBWA) and SEC Freshman of the Week.
In LSU’s two wins this past week, Williams averaged 20.0 points 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.5 steals. She also ranks fifth in scoring among freshmen nationally.

Despite being on a team loaded with experienced talent, Williams has proven to be a major contributor for the Tigers this season and could be a major factor for this squad come March.
