There isn’t a hotter team in college football through Week 7 than the Washington Huskies. Not only do they look like a team destined to return to the CFP for the first time since 2016, but Michael Penix Jr. could win the school’s first-ever Heisman Trophy.
As it relates to the playoff rankings, the college football world is still a couple of weeks away from the first unveiling of the CFP rankings. Most feel that the Georgia Bulldogs and Michigan Wolverines will be right at the top. In fact, most bowl projections have these two elite programs facing off for the national championship.
Beyond those two teams, these are the squads most often mentioned among the rest of the New Years Six:
- Florida State Seminoles
- Washington Huskies
- Oklahoma Sooners
- Texas Longhorns
- Oregon Ducks
- Ohio State Buckeyes
- Penn State Nittany Lions
- Tulane Green Wave
- Alabama Crimson Tide
- Air Force Falcons
