It isn’t just coach-speak from Jim Harbaugh as the Michigan football head coach discussed his upcoming game against Rutgers. Harbaugh praised the Rutgers defense as being “salty” while also singling out several standouts on offense.

In particular, Harbaugh honed in on the Scarlet Knights group of running backs, led by Isaih Pacheco and Kyle Monangai. It was Pacheco though whom Harbaugh highlighted in his Monday press conference when talking about the 3-0 Scarlet Knights.

“Rutgers, they’ve got really good backs. Always have great respect for Pacheco and they’re extremely athletic. He’s a really good runner,” Harbaugh said via WolverinesWire.

“Always gets north-south, breaks tackles can make the big play. They have a very good quarterback. The receiver, No. 18 — outstanding.”

The quarterback, of course, is Noah Vedral, who has had a very solid start to the season for an offense that has yet to turn the ball over. And “No. 18” is Bo Melton, who emerged as one of the top wide receivers in college football last year.

Melton has 20 catches for 227 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the season’s first three games.

Michigan comes in Saturday’s game 3-0 and ranked No. 19 in the latest USA TODAY Sports AFCA Coaches Poll. Last season, Michigan beat Rutgers at home in triple overtime.
