Michigan State at one point was considered a sizeable underdog in their season-opener at Northwestern — but that’s no longer the case.

Michigan State at one point was considered a sizeable underdog in their season-opener at Northwestern — but that’s no longer the case.

As of Sunday night (and less than only five days from kickoff), the Spartans are now just a 3.5-point underdog to Northwestern, according to Tipico. Depending on the sports book, Michigan State was once a touchdown underdog in the season-opener but now it’s down to just over a field goal.

This kind of movement on the betting line would suggest many are putting money down on the Spartans to cover the spread. It’ll be interesting to see if it gets even lower as we creep closer to kickoff later in the week.

Additionally, Tipico has Michigan State at +130 on the moneyline and the over-under is set at 45.5 points.
