Michigan State hockey weekend round-up: MSU sweeps LIU

MSU sweeped Long Island this weekend, the first sweep of the Adam Nightingale era

Michigan State got their first sweep of the Adam Nightingale era! The Spartans took out Long Island University in both games of a 2-game series in East Lansing.

In game one, Michigan State showed off a strong defensive effort, holding LIU to just one goal on their way to a 3-1 victory.

In game two, Michigan State flipped the script and showed their scoring ability, winning 8-4 over the Sharks with 7 different goal scorers in the game.

The Spartans will take a 4-2 record into their first Big Ten Conference series against Notre Dame next week.
