Michigan State hockey loses defense commitment

A defenseman expected to come to MSU will no longer be making his way to East Lansing

Michigan State has seemingly lost a commitment on the hockey side of the athletic department. Jack Sparkes, a defenseman that has played in both the BCHL and USHL, appears to have moved off of his MSU commitment.

The 6-foot-8, 240 pound defenseman was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, but his development has stalled a touch at the junior level.

With the Spartans having nine rostered defenseman next season, it makes sense for the two parties to move on.
