Michigan State goalie Trey Augustine shined in USA’s win over Canada on New Year’s Eve, putting up a 38-save performance en route to a 4-1 win. With the win, Augustine has now acquired 10 world junior championship wins in his three tournaments played. That ties an American record.
Augustine has now tied Jack Campbell for the most wins by an American goaltender in the world juniors, with 10. He will have a chance to break the record when USA plays Switzerland in the quarterfinal round on Thursday.
