After a dominating 8-3 win on Friday night, Michigan State returned to Munn Ice Arena on Saturday night for the final game of a weekend series against Notre Dame. On Saturday, the Spartans downed the Fighting Irish, 4-3, to earn their second straight sweep in Big Ten play.
The Spartans were sparked early in the game by a spectacular goal from Shane Vansaghi to give the Spartans a lead that they would not give up.
MSU’s other goals came from Matt Basgall, Gavin O’Connell and Daniel Russell.
The Spartans return to action on Thursday for an exhibition matchup against the United States National Development Team before a nonconference weekend series with Lindenwood on Nov. 28.
