Michigan State football still not receiving votes in the AP poll

The media isn’t quite as high on the Spartans as the coaches are after a 3-0 start to the season:

For two straight weeks, the Michigan State football team has received votes in the US LBM Coaches Poll. However, the Spartans are still not receiving any votes in the AP poll, as the media seems to be more skeptical about MSU than the coaches.

While it might be slightly disappointing, it’s not exactly surprising. Even though the Spartans blew out Prairie View A&M on Saturday, the media will probably want to see them prove one more time before inserting them into the mix for the top-25. Next week’s match-up against Boston College will be the perfect opportunity for the Spartans, if they win, to elevate themselves into that conversation.
