Michigan State Football ended their 2021 season 10-2 with a win over Penn State on Saturday. The last time Michigan State’s football program had this much success was in 2017 when they won the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California under Mark Dantonio.
Most of the current seniors on the roster were freshmen then, and Michigan State has struggled after that year until this season.
In Mel Tucker’s first year, the Spartans finished with a record of 2-5 in a pandemic shortened season. Many media members picked Michigan State to finish last in the Big Ten East conference.
With a full offseason with no interruptions under their belt, the Spartans were able to prove everyone wrong and finish the regular season 10-2. Including winning all of their home games.
Mel Tucker has exceeded expectations already, and the Spartans are waiting to hear what New Years Six Bowl they will be attending, to pick up win number eleven.
