The lone linebacker commit in the 2022 recruiting class, Quavian Carter has signed his NLI, locking him in with the Spartans. Carter has been very quiet throughout his recruitment, and to no surprise, it was unknown he was on a visit to MSU until he committed on that visit.
Carter held notable offers from Michigan, Clemson and Florida State, among others, and took an official visit to Ole Miss this fall. The Spartans ultimately ended up on top in this recruitment though.

Player Profile
Position: Linebacker
Height/Weight: 6’4″/200 pounds
Hometown: Leesburg, Georgia
High School: Lee County High School
247Sports Composite ranking: 3-Star, No. 660 nationally
Analysis: Carter is an interesting prospect, like fellow commit Malcolm Jones, is a member of Lee County High School but is not playing linebacker, he is a safety. Some colleges projected him as a safety in college, but the MSU coaches see NFL potential in transitioning Carter to linebacker. Only time will tell, as Carter will need a season or two to get his body right in order to physically be ready to play the linebacker position, but their is a very high ceiling if all goes well.
