Michigan State football lands Air Force edge transfer

MSU gets help on the edge, securing the commitment of an Air Force transfer that was a starter at DE for the Falcons as a redshirt freshman in 2024

Michigan State football knows it had issues in the pass rush during the 2024 campaign, having a concerningly low number of sacks and quarterback pressures. The Spartans have addressed the need their in transfer portal, first landing Anelu Lafaele from Wisconsin, and now they have added an Air Force transfer.

David Santiago has made the decision to commit to Michigan State. Santiago comes to MSU from Air Force, where he started 10 games and played 521 snaps for the Falcons. He is initially a native of Raleigh, North Carolina.

In his one year as a starter with Air Force, Santiago logged 37 tackles, 3.5 sacks and a forced fumble, while also having 23 quarterback pressures and 15 quarterback hurries.

Santiago will bring a blend of experience to play a role in 2025, with three years of eligibility left that will allow him to build with the program.
