Michigan State had an impressive opening weekend:

Michigan State baseball is off and running in the 2023 season, the 15th season in the Jake Boss tenure in East Lansing. The Spartans are looking to get back to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2012 and they are off to a good start.

MSU traveled to Phoenix to play in the MLB Desert Invitational, which included playing some very strong competition.

In the four games, Michigan State went 3-1:

  • Michigan: W 15-8
  • Fresno State: W 7-4
  • Arizona: L 7-1
  • Grand Canyon: W 7-1

Michigan State will look to continue building on their strong start next weekend when they travel to the Carolinas for three games:

  • @ USC Upstate — Spartanburg, South Carolina
  • @ Gardner-Webb — Boiling Springs, North Carolina
  • @ Presbyterian College — Clinton, South Carolina
