DT Raequan Williams
So, this one kind of has both sides.
Defensive tackle Raequan Williams both dismissed that Michigan was doing anything that made it hard for the MSU defense, but he also notes that the Wolverines played harder and more physical in the game.
“I don’t think they were doing anything that was too difficult to stop,” Williams said. “I think we’ve gotta make plays and make tackles when they were meant to make. And we didn’t. You could see they blew it open on us.”
So that was the first deal. Then his credit to Michigan:
“I think they out-toughed us with a few plays and missed tackles,” Williams said. “No doubt in my mind that everyone went out there and played tough.”
Like Lewerke, Williams didn’t feel like the game was out of hand until very late in the game. Michigan was up 27-10 going into the final period, but scored 17 in the fourth to put the game away.
“I didn’t feel that until the fourth quarter, probably,” Williams said.“I feel like we still had a chance the whole way through, until probably halfway through that fourth.”
He added, shortly after: “It’s a bit demoralizing, a little bit.”
