Unlike in the Amway Coaches Poll, powered by USA TODAY Sports, idle Michigan did make make a move up in the latest AP Top 25.
After a wild weekend in college football, the top three stayed the same, but with former No. 4 Florida losing at Texas A&M, No. 7 Miami losing to No. 1 Clemson, No. 14 Tennessee losing to No. 3 Georgia and LSU losing to Mizzou, there was bound to be some large-scale movement. And though there’s still 13 days until the Wolverines take the field, they made a slight uptick in Sunday’s AP Top 25, moving from No. 20 to No. 19.
As far as the rest of the Big Ten, rival Ohio State stayed at No. 6, as did Penn State at No. 9 and Wisconsin at No. 16. Michigan’s first opponent in 2020, Minnesota, moved up one spot to No. 24.
