Michigan moves up in latest AP Top 25

This time Michigan football actually moved up a few spots after having lost ground inexplicably last week.

Last week, Michigan inexplicably moved down, despite being idle, in the Week Four AP Top 25. With more teams moving down or out of the rankings thanks to equally inexplicable losses, the maize and blue got a chance to move up a little in the Week Five rankings.

Now, there are some Associated Press voters who have shared that they’re only voting for teams that have played — which does skew things a bit. Ohio State is still ranked high — but is perhaps still too low at No. 6. But as an example, teams like Texas — who struggled two weeks ago before losing to unranked TCU on Saturday — came in at No. 22 this week, though TCU is still unranked.

This week, Michigan didn’t move down though, as voters put the maize and blue up three spots to No. 20 after being 23 a week ago. Of the Wolverines’ future opponents, OSU is No. 6, Penn State is No. 9, Wisconsin is No. 16 and Minnesota is No. 25.
