Michigan missed out on one of its top 2021 running back targets in Ohio State commit TreVeyon Henderson, but remains in the thick of it for in-state elite runner Donovan Edwards.

But there’s another who’s strongly considering the Wolverines.

Del Valle (TX) RB Tavierre Dunlap is a four-star, rated by 247Sports as the No. 222 player in the country via its proprietary rankings, and the No. 14 tailback nationally.

At 6-foot-0, 196-pounds, Dunlap has zero 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions for any institution, but now we know that the maize and blue are among his finalists, as he released a Top 8 on Thursday.

The other finalists include Oklahoma State, Nebraska, Arizona State, Washington, USC, Utah and Virginia Tech.

Jay Harbaugh is Dunlap’s primary recruiter for Michigan. He also has reported offers from MSU, Notre Dame and Cal.
