The Wolverines held the overmatched Hawaii offense to just 10 points on Saturday.
The Rainbow Warriors’ offense couldn’t muster much at all when Michigan had its starters on the field. But once Jim Harbaugh emptied his bench and backups came in, Hawaii was able to get a couple of scores. It did seem that if Michigan would’ve kept its starters in the entire game, then the Rainbow Warriors may have been shut out.
Michigan only recorded one sack, by Mike Morris, against Hawaii but Timmy Chang game planned around the ferocious defensive attack. Hawaii threw a lot of quick passes and screens to try and help its offensive line.
Hawaii only had 253 yards on offense Saturday and it recorded just 13 first downs.
