The Michigan Wolverines are 2-0 entering Week 3 and will finish off the nonconference slate facing off against the 1-1 Bowling Green Falcons at The Big House. The game will be the third and last game in which head coach Jim Harbaugh is suspended and Sherrone Moore, the team’s offensive coordinator, will be taking over his duties as the acting head coach.

The game starts at 7:30 p.m. EDT and can be seen on Big Ten Network.

Last week, the Wolverines won emphatically, but not dramatically, once again, taking out UNLV, 35-7, in a game that, again, wasn’t as close as the score indicated. Quarterback J.J. McCarthy was electric and efficient, while the defense continued to dominate.

With Bowling Green coming to Ann Arbor, however, the Wolverines face a MAC team that struggled against the one good team it’s faced. And though there are multiple former Wolverines on staff with the Falcons — head coach Scot Loeffler and receivers coach Erik Campbell — the maize and blue have too much talent to ignore.

As a result, the point spread is even more lofty than each of the previous two weeks.

  • Point spread: Michigan -40.5
  • Money line: N/A
  • Over-under: 53.5

Bowling Green Falcons at Michigan Wolverines injury report:

It’s unclear who will not suit up for Michigan football on Saturday. There are few injuries that are still limiting the maize and blue, but we did see Will Johnson return for a series, while Zeke Berry was injured on the opening kickoff last week.

Out:

  • 1 Amorion Walker
  • 7 Makari Paige
  • 22 Tavierre Dunlap
  • 28 Benjamin Hall
  • 30 Jimmy Rolder
  • 33 German Green

Questionable:

  • 0 Darrius Clemons
  • 2 Will Johnson (played)
  • 9 Rod Moore
  • 40 Christian Boivin
  • 81 Peyton O’Leary
  • 88 Matt Hibner

Advice and prediction

Michigan has not covered in each of the last two weeks as of yet, and it would be wise to not go with a cover against a perceived overmatched opponent until the Wolverines indicate they’re willing to bury teams. With reserves coming in each of the last two games in the mid-third quarter, it’s difficult to predict what will happen on that front.

We’d take Bowling Green to cover and the under.

Prediction: Michigan 35, Bowling Green 3
