Michigan football had two stellar defensive linemen pledged in the 2025 class but saw both flip to other programs.
It’s been a few months since prized four-star DL Nate Marshall flipped to Auburn, but just last week, after stating he was solid to the Wolverines, four-star Jaylen Williams ended up flipping to Wisconsin. With just under a week until early signing day, that’s had Michigan scrambling to look for more options.
Though not a household name, 2025 Louisville (Ky.) Fern Creek Traditional three-star defensive lineman Travis Moten has picked up his interest in Michigan as of late. He made a midweek visit to Ann Arbor this week and now The Michigan Insider’s Sam Webb has put in a prediction, as has The Wolverine’s EJ Holland, that he’ll end up a Wolverine once everything is said and done.
Here is how Moten ranks according to the recruiting services:
* | Ovr | Pos | St | |
247Sports Composite | 3 | 1362 | 150 | 14 |
On3 Industry Ranking | 3 | 1852 | 174 | 19 |

Michigan is one of three Power Four offers that Moten has, along with Virginia and Texas Tech. Though not highly rated, he’s emerging late and bursting onto the scene.
He was previously committed to Western Michigan and was only offered by Michigan football on Nov. 14.
