A familiar name is looking to return to Ann Arbor.
There’s a reason why it’s good to never cut ties with analysts and behind the scenes assistants. There’s no telling where they may eventually end up.
Such is the case with former Michigan assistant Stephen Adegoke. Adegoke was a defensive assistant for the Wolverines for a few years, culminating in the turnaround year of 2021. But he departed the program to be an assistant with the San Francisco 49ers before becoming the safeties coach for the Houston Texans. After two years in the NFL, Adegoke is returning to Ann Arbor to be the new safeties coach for Sherrone Moore, according to 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.
Michigan is expected to hire Houston Texans safeties coach Stephen Adegoke as a defensive backs coach, sources tell @247sports.
Before the Texans, Adegoke worked for the San Francisco 49ers and as a graduate assistant/assistant DB coach at Michigan.https://t.co/dJORJ80Uo5 pic.twitter.com/WkZ4o7Hx0r

A former Mississippi State player, Adegoke brings an NFL pedigree along with new defensive coordinator Wink Martindale and impending defensive line coach Greg Scruggs. Under head coach DeMeco Ryans, the Houston Texans moved up from being among the worst secondaries in the NFL to being in the middle.
