Michigan football won’t lose as much as it had going from the 2023 season where it won the national championship to 2024 as it will from 2024 to 2025, but still, it needs some continuity moving forward.
The Wolverines, thus, got some good news on Wednesday.
One player who could have decided to move on to the NFL is tight end and fullback Max Bredeson, who was a team captain in 2024. After the ReliaQuest Bowl, Bredeson said of his decision, “In the next week or so — I want to wait until after the season to figure out what to do.”
Well, a week and a day later, Bredeson has come to a decision and he’s decided that he will return for his final year with the Wolverines.
He made the announcement on Instagram.

With Bredeson back, the Wolverines will continue to have an established presence at fullback, and he’ll be able to continue to mentor early enrollee Eli Owens, who is expected to eventually take over that role in the future.
He’s one team captain who’s back, but the Wolverines are hopeful to also get safety Rod Moore, who tore his ACL in spring ball, back for another season as well.
