Michigan football already has two elite commitments in 2026, both of them hailing from the state of Florida. Could a third be coming soon, also from the Sunshine State?
According to On3 Michigan recruiting guru EJ Holland, that might be the case.
On Wednesday, Holland put in a forecast for the Wolverines with 60% confidence on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine indicating that 2026 Boca Raton (Fla.) West four-star running back Javian Mallory will pick the maize and blue — and he may do so in short order. (subscription required)
Here is how Mallory ranks according to the recruiting services:
* | Ovr. | Pos. | St. | |
247Sports Composite | 4 | 187 | 14 | 33 |
On3 Industry Ranking | 4 | 170 | 13 | 31 |
247Sports | 4 | 245 | 16 | 41 |
On3 | 3 | 189 | 18 | 32 |
ESPN | 4 | 271 | 13 | 43 |
Rivals | 4 | 140 | 9 | 41 |
Mallory comes in at 6-foot, 200 pounds and also is a track runner. He ran for 500 yards on 91 carries in his sophomore year.
There is no shortage of suitors for Mallory. He has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Miami, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, USC, and others.
It’s unclear how a potential commitment from Mallory will affect Michigan’s chances at reeling in another top target in 2026 four-star running back Savion Hiter — who visited for the BBQ at the Big House.
