For those at the skill positions, there are a couple of drills at the NFL scouting combine that are particularly elucidating. The one that gets the most eyes, however, is the 40-yard dash.
Cornerbacks are participating in the biggest drill in the event, and on Friday, Michigan football cornerback DJ Turner had an eye-opening performance.
According to MLive’s Aaron McMann, Turner was clocked with a 4.27 unofficial 40-yard dash, which is the fastest of those who have run it at the 2023 NFL combine at the time of this writing. While it’s certainly not the top speed we’ve seen in recent years, it is a blazing-fast mark to hit.
