Michigan football beats out SEC teams for 4-star EDGE

Michigan football has been on a tear on the recruiting trail and it almost seems foreign that the Wolverines haven’t gotten a commitment in nearly a week thanks to the torrid pace pledges have been coming in.

One visitor to Ann Arbor in the month of June was 2025 Alpharetta (Ga.) four-star edge rusher Julius Holly. A 6-foot-3, 230-pound dual-sport end who also plays basketball in high school, Holly ran a verified 4.8 40-yard dash according to 247Sports.

Holly was also visited and was considering Georgia, Stanford, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, but ultimately chose Michigan football as his college destination on Saturday.

Here is how Holly is rated by the recruiting services:

* Ovr. Pos. St.
247Sports Composite 4 301 22 38
On3 Industry Ranking 4 295 37 35
247Sports 3 31 41
On3 4 236 25 29
ESPN 4 34 42
Rivals 4 22 41

Holly is the 13th commit to Michigan football and the first edge rusher in the class (though defensive lineman Jaylen Williams could project to the edge). With Holly in the fold, the Wolverines have 10 commits who are four-stars according to the 247Sports Composite, and three who are three-stars.

Oklahoma, Penn State, and Tennessee were some of Holly’s other big offers. Georgia was considered the favorite up until just days before his pledge to the Wolverines.
