It’s another sign the Jadyn Davis commitment is paying off.
After the 2024 Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day five-star quarterback committed, the question was: Who will join him?
Michigan football has been targeting two of his teammates, both wide receivers — four-stars Jordan Shipp and Channing Goodwin. The latter is a Michigan legacy: His father, Jonathan Goodwin, played offensive line for the Wolverines.
Rated No. 241 overall according to 247Sports’ proprietary rankings, Goodwin appeared to be choosing between the Wolverines and North Carolina Tar Heels. However, Michigan being the legacy school along and having the pledge of his high school quarterback was too much for North Carolina to overcome.
Goodwin committed to Michigan football on Sunday. He made the pledge on the 247Sports YouTube channel.
Goodwin also had offers from Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Louisville, NC State, Pitt, South Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and West Virginia.
He’s the first wide receiver pledge of the 2024 class for the Wolverines and the 16th overall. Michigan football still has the No. 1 class in the nation according to the 247Sports team rankings.
