Michigan football 2025 target sets commitment date

#Michigan is in great standing for him. #GoBlue

The month of June set up very nicely for Michigan football recruiting. The month of July may have a rough start.

The Wolverines already missed out on a couple of top targets, headlined by edge rusher Maxwell Roy who committed to rival Ohio State on Monday, but there should be good news coming soon for the maize and blue, assuming nothing changes.

One of the prospects Michigan football is in great standing with is 2025 Destrehan (Louisiana) three-star wide receiver Phillip Wright III, who could end up being the second wideout from WR coach Ron Bellamy’s home state of Louisiana, and third pledge from the state, should he commit.

And now we know when Wright will make his decision.

Rivals reports Wright is down to three schools — Michigan, Georgia and LSU — and plans to make his commitment on July 13.

Here is how Wright is ranked via the recruiting services:

* Ovr. Pos. St.
247Sports Composite 3 534 33 21
On3 Industry Ranking 3 415 66 11
247Sports 3 30 21
On3 3 46 10
ESPN 3 84 17
Rivals 4 52 11

An avid track athlete, Wright ran a blazing-fast 10.62 100-meter dash in 2023.

Michigan currently has a Louisiana native committed at wideout: Marrero (Louisiana) Archbishop Shaw four-star Jacob Washington. The Wolverines are also in good standing with Fulshear (Texas) Katy Jordan four-star Andrew Marsh.
