Michigan had a chance to jump back into the AP Top 25 poll this week if they could pull off the upset and defeat the No. 13 Wisconsin Badgers. Instead, Michigan failed to win as it lost 49-11 and fell to a 1-3 record. With the 1-3 record, Michigan now needs a lot of work to be considered a top 25 team. Its next three opponents aren’t ranked, and it seems that the only way the Wolverines return to the AP poll is if they can upset the Ohio State Buckeyes in the season finale.
Even if Michigan were able to defeat Wisconsin, it wouldn’t have had much luck to move into the rankings this week as six games featuring ranked teams were canceled due to COVID-19, making it harder for teams to move around the rankings this week. With that, only one upset happened this week, so with multiple teams on an unexpected bye week and only one ranked team falling, were there any big changes to the rankings?
