While Michigan football was playing away for the first time in 2024 at Washington, an incident made headlines on social media as Wolverines assistant Chris Bryant was shown walking up to some Husky fans in the stands and throwing a few expletives their way. The video in question does not indicate what the Washington fans had done to elicit such a reaction from the behind-the-scenes staffer for the maize and blue, but it was being spread around the internet in effort by rival fans to paint the program in a negative light.
It made such a ruckus that the Michigan Athletic Department issued a response.

We became aware of an interaction between Washington fans who were harassing our players by using over the top and offensive language. It was an unfortunate situation and should not have happened. Our staff member should have asked the stadium staff to handle the matter rather than act in the emotional manner with which he did at that time. This is disappointing and we will handle the matter internally as a program.
Obviously, the statement is unclear what, if any, punishment will be for Bryant, and there’s not, as of yet, been any indication of the ‘offensive language’ those on camera used which spurred the reaction.
