Michigan at UCLA picks and predictions
Prediction
Michigan 71, UCLA 68
Moneyline
MICHIGAN (+140) is worth a look as a moderate underdog on the road, as it has been playing much better basketball lately.
The Wolverines picked up the 85-74 win at the USC Trojans in the front end of the road trip Saturday, and they have won 3 in a row, and 10 of the past 12 games.
UCLA (-165) is a little too expensive for a team which has dropped 2 of the past 3 games, including a loss at Nebraska.
Against the spread
MICHIGAN +3.5 (-105) is a solid play catching points if you think this is going to be a close game, and you’d like a little bit of insurance.
The Wolverines have covered 3 in a row, while going 8-4 ATS in the past 12 games. Michigan has won and covered each of its only 2 true road games, too.
UCLA -3.5 (-115) is just 1-2 SU/ATS in the past 3 outings, and it is just 3-2 ATS in the past 5 games at Pauley Pavilion.
Over/Under
UNDER 140.5 (-105) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.
The Under has cashed in 3 in a row for UCLA, while going 11-3 in 14 games. The Bruins are allowing just 59.2 points per game, which ranks No. 7 in the nation. They’re allowing just 39.5% from the field, and 29.5% from behind the 3-point line, too.
For Michigan, though, the Over has hit in 5 of the past 6 outings, so be careful. Prior to this run, the Under was 4-0 in 4 games from Nov. 21-Dec. 3. The Wolverines have allowed just 67.1 PPG, while teams are hitting only 38.9% from the field against them.
