There was no way Kyle McNamara was going to Ohio State. Especially not after receiving a Michigan offer last week.
The younger brother of 2019 class quarterback Cade McNamara, Kyle has long only had two offers: Central Michigan and Ohio State. It took some time for the Nashville (TN) Lipscomb Academy two-star to get his Michigan offer, but didn’t it seem like something of a formality, given his brother’s attendance and the offer from the Wolverines chief rival?
It took a week for McNamara to weigh his options, but once he had, the 5-foot-9, 170-pound receiver knew where home was, where family is. On Sunday he announced via Twitter that he’s committed to Michigan.

The younger McNamara continues the new trend of legacies pledging, even though they’re still forming. In what seems like wins ago now, Lavert Hill followed in his older brother, Delano’s, footsteps. More recently, however, 2022 pledges Myles Rowser and Alex VanSumeren — brothers of 2020 signee Andre Seldon and 2018 athlete Ben VanSumeren, respectively — committed to their siblings’ school.
Naturally, Cade McNamara was elated at the news, knowing he’ll have the chance to toss passes to his brother at the college level.
