The Colorado Buffaloes team will look much different in 2022, both on the player front and on the coaching staff.

According to Brian Howell of BuffZone, the team decided not to bring back outside linebackers coach Brian Michalowski after three seasons in Boulder.

Michalowski had been credited with the development of star LB Carson Wells, who entered the draft after another strong season with the Buffs.

Michalowski was hired by Mel Tucker during his short stint with the Buffs, so perhaps they want to go in a different direction despite the strong production from Wells.

For his replacement, new D-line coach Vic So’oto was an OLB coach at USC and it’s possible he could take on that position group here in Boulder.

But, Michalowski wasn’t the only assistant to head out. As Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reported, QB coach Danny Langsdorf is likely headed for Temple to become an offensive coordinator.

Langsdorf adds another destination to his long resume after spending time with the Buffs and now steps into an OC role.

Karl Dorrell’s staff continues to change by the day, and players in Colorado keep entering the transfer portal as well.

The 2022 Buffs team will look vastly different from the group they trotted out in 2021, making it difficult for Dorrell to have any sort of consistency. Then again, that is how college football goes.

The Buffs have a new offensive coordinator in Mike Sanford, and will now search for a new quarterbacks coach (or put Sanford there) if Langsdorf leaves for a promotion at Temple.
