Denver Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. recorded his second straight 30-point game on Wednesday after scoring 30 points and a career-high 15 rebounds during a 132-126 win over the San Antonio Spurs.

Porter followed up a career-high 37 points and 12 rebounds on Monday by becoming the first Nuggets rookie since Dikembe Mutombo in 1992 to record at least 30 points and 15 rebounds during a single game, according to Stat Muse.

Porter got off to a quick start in the contest, scoring 10 of the first 14 points by the Nuggets. He put up 12 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter alone to help the Nuggets seal the victory, which brought them to within half of a game of the Los Angeles Clippers in second place.

The 67 points scored by Porter over his last two games are the most by a Nuggets rookie in franchise history. He also became the first rookie in the NBA with consecutive 30-point, 10-rebound games since Blake Griffin in 2011, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

The Nuggets took a huge gamble on Porter during the 2018 NBA Draft due to his injury history but it is clear that he has lived up to the hype. He has proven to be a problem now that he is healthy and the Nuggets are finally beginning to benefit from his skill set.

Behind the efforts of Porter, the Nuggets have won back-to-back games and appear to be clicking on all cylinders ahead of the postseason. If he can continue this production, the Nuggets may be a force to reckon with once the playoffs begin.
