Michael Porter Jr. shattered a previous career-high of 25 points on Monday after scoring 37 points lead the Denver Nuggets to a 121-113 overtime win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Porter scored 20 points alone through the first two quarters as he nearly accounted for half of the Nuggets’ 50 points at halftime. His scoring cooled off some in the third quarter but returned in the fourth period with 12 points to help the Nuggets send the game to overtime.

The rookie shot 12-of-16 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, while he made all nine free-throw attempts. He also hauled in 12 rebounds while adding one assist, one steal and one blocked shot in 43 minutes of work.

After scoring 11 points in the restart opener on Saturday, Porter bounced back with his best game yet in a Nuggets uniform. He looked to be aggressive throughout the contest and made the performance look easy at times.

The performance by Porter will be a welcomed addition for the Nuggets as they progress toward the start of the playoffs. Porter won’t score 30 points every game but having a confident Porter heading into the postseason will be valuable for the Nuggets.

The Nuggets play next on Wednesday vs. the Spurs.
