Michael Colubiale played tight end for Josh Heupel at UCF in 2018.
Colubiale also played for Scott Frost at UCF from 2016-17.
The former UCF tight end joined the show “Tennessee Two-A-Days” to discuss Heupel’s offense, one that he thinks UT fans will appreciate the style of.
Heupel’s offense is an uptempo and power-spread Air Raid scheme.
“Playing in both offenses, I felt like the biggest difference is definitely the speed and tempo, the pace we play at,” Colubiale said. “I thought when Frost came in, and we were in a no-huddle offense, that was fast, but when Heupel got there we were snapping the ball between plays six or seven seconds.
“In Heupel’s offense, you like to attack the field vertical, a lot more than in Frost’s offense. We like to ground and pound the ball, too.”
The entire show with Colubiale can be listened to here or below as he provides a breakdown of Heupel’s offense.
