The New York Jets are one of the more interesting teams going into the 2023 NFL season. With the addition of Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the Jets are primed for a playoff run as they have a lot of young talent on the roster.
Among the players that could play a role in the offense is former North Carolina running back Michael Carter. The running back is going into his third year with the team and will be behind Breece Hall in the backfield on the depth chart. But that doesn’t mean that Carter won’t have a role in this talented offense.
Carter talked to the official team site last week with training camp looming and he says he has a lot to prove going into this year.
“A lot. I don’t want to speak on it right now, just want to show it. Sometimes you have to say less and do more,” Carter said in the interview. “Just locking in on what you want to get done. I feel like you can work hard but if you have no approach for your work, it’s kinda all for not. I think the plan that I’ve been on is going pretty well. I’m getting better. I feel like I’m going to have a good year three.”
Carter went on to say that he’s working on his overall game and that he feels like he’s a complete back and ready to show that.
While it might not be a starter role for Carter in year three, he does add value to this backfield. And that could go a long way in what will be an important season for him.
