Following the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 31-9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LV, the football world’s attention deservedly focused in on Tom Brady.
The future Hall of Fame quarterback had won his seventh Super Bowl by defeating the player most likely to challenge his GOAT status one day: Patrick Mahomes.
But there was also a question as to how Mahomes would handle his Super Bowl defeat. Well, it didn’t take long to find out.
After the final whistle sounded, the Chiefs quarterback was among the first players on the field to congratulate Brady on the win. And thanks to NFL Films, we can hear exactly what was said in the mic’d-up conversation.
Respect ✊

Mahomes went up to Brady and said, “You’re a legend, man. Congrats, man.”
Brady told Mahomes that he was a stud and asked him to keep in touch.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce also went up to Brady and congratulated him on the seventh ring.
While Brady has never congratulated the opposing quarterback in his three Super Bowl defeats, the Chiefs and Mahomes clearly took a different approach. It was all class.
