Miami took a lead over Louisville in the second quarter on Saturday with a 34-yard reverse taken to the house by wide receiver Brashard Smith, but the wideout wasn’t the star of the play.
Offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa paved the way for Smith as he reached the second level on a pull, and he laid a devastating block on defensive back Devin Neal.

Mauigoa, a freshman who played at IMG Academy in high school, stole the social media attention for his efforts. He blocked Neal near the 20-yard line, almost 15 yards past the original line of scrimmage.
If Miami pulls off the upset against Louisville and shakes the ACC pecking order, Mauigoa’s effort on the third touchdown of the day will be key to the effort.
