Miami loss ‘ended everything’ for Florida OL flip target

Florida’s Week 1 loss to Miami didn’t do the program any favors on the recruiting front, especially when it comes to flip targets.

Several flip targets for Florida were in Gainesville for the Week 1 beatdown Miami delivered to the Orange and Blue, including Georgia interior offensive line commit [autotag]Dontrell Glover[/autotag].

Offered in March, Glover never made it to Florida during the spring or summer. He committed to the Bulldogs in late June but kept an open mind heading into the regular season.

Perhaps a flip is still on the table for Glover, but his recent comments to 247Sports’ Blake Alderman indicate Florida is just about out of the race.

“It was a good game, but Florida didn’t do what I expected them to do” Glover said. “Miami was a great team. I just feel like, I was into Florida earlier in my recruitment, but now it really ended everything.”

For what it’s worth, Glover never seemed too interested in Florida, but the Gators are desperately trying to add some impact players to the trenches and early playing time was likely on the table. The coaching staff continues to stay in touch in hopes Glover isn’t completely done with Florida.

Glover said he is “locked in with Georgia,” but there is a chance he’ll return to The Swamp to see a win.

Recruiting Summary

Glover is a three-star recruit on 247Sports and On3’s individual rankings, but he is a four-star recruit on both organizations’ composites.

The 247Sports puts him at No. 296 overall and No. 17 among interior offensive linemen in the class of 2025, while the On3 industry ranking has him at Nos. 313 and 25, respectively.

Georgia leads the On3 recruiting prediction machine with a 79.4% chance to sign Glover, followed by Florida State (16.6%) and Alabama (1.5%).
